Pt. Uma Dutt Public School Honoured for Excellence by Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Programme

Pt. Uma Dutt Public School takes immense pride in sharing that Pt.UDPS was honoured for Special Meritorious Services by the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award programme.

On behalf of the school, Dr. Pankaj Vashishtha, Principal, received this prestigious recognition from Sir Dominic Aquithius, British High Commissioner and Ambassador of the United Kingdom, at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

A Legacy of Youth Empowerment

The International Award for Young People Programme was introduced in India in 1962 with the objective of encouraging young people to realise their full potential within the cultural and social framework of Indian society. The programme aims to enhance moral strength, social responsibility, leadership skills, and intellectual growth, truly living by its philosophy to “Equip Young People for Life.”

At Pt. Uma Dutt Public School, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme was introduced in 2015 under the visionary leadership of Dr. Vashishtha. Since its inception, more than 500 students have been guided and nurtured to grow into responsible, compassionate, and socially committed individuals.

Commitment to Holistic Education

Recognising the transformative impact of the programme, the school has now made participation mandatory for students of Classes XI and XII, as well as for all students above the age of 15 years. This initiative reinforces the school’s commitment to holistic education that extends far beyond academics.

The National Liaison Office, New Delhi, has consistently appreciated the institution for its sincere efforts and effective implementation of the programme.
